DESCRIPTION:This is the first call of this new advocacy initiative in Washington\, DC that harnesses the energy\, talent and determination of women and men across the country who want to advance the health of women in the legislative process. On this call\, we will share more information on the Women’s Health Advocates and our plans for 2025. \nWomen’s Health Advocates: \nWe leverage expert lobbying skills\, deep health expertise\, and critical support from a broad range of women leaders to secure federal understanding\, support and investment to improve women’s health over their lifespan. Incredibly\, only 8-11% of National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants currently fund women’s health\, and just 2% of VC investment and Big Pharma R&D is focused on women’s health innovation. Yet women’s health is a $1 trillion market opportunity\, according to the McKinsey Health Institute. \nWe focus our expertise and advocacy efforts on educating and influencing policymakers and regulators on health issues for all women\, including but not limited to: \nAging Health | Autoimmune Health | Brain Health | Cancers | Clinical Trial Representation & Drug Safety | Gynecological and Ovarian Health | Heart Health | Maternal and Postpartum Health Mental Health | Stress Management | Wellness \nWe hope you will consider becoming a member of the Women’s Health Advocates Steering Committee to play a pivotal role in this effort.
