Introducing Unique Model for Education
Goal:
Educate on innovative model for STEM education and workforce development, working locally and statewide that is becoming a national model.
Results:
Developed strategy for targeting and messaging then implemented by meeting with targets in the Statehouse offices and organizing tours of the nonprofit
Worked with state agencies and the governor’s office to educate on the organization and proven successful programming
Met with and communicated regularly with regional economic development organization to garner support for model and inclusion in state budget
Researched the best line to use in the bill and built relationship with the fiscal agent
Wrote testimony and secured testifying opportunities, working closely with the Finance Committees and their respective chairmen
$300,000 secured in Capital Budget and $100,000 secured in Operating Budget
$100,000 obtained in state grant from Ohio Dept. of Education
Obtained national recognition by President Obama as a premier STEM education model for the country
