April 3 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST
Hosted by the Focused Ultrasound Foundation.
Focused ultrasound is a non-invasive therapeutic technology with the potential to improve the lives of millions of patients with a variety of serious medical disorders. It offers a non-pharmacological alternative or complement to surgery, radiation therapy, and drug-based treatments. Focused ultrasound treats tissue with multiple intersecting beams of sound, which can be focused precisely on targets deep in the body without damaging surrounding structures.
Join us to learn about this revolutionary platform technology, which has transformed care for patients suffering from serious conditions like Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, prostate cancer, and uterine fibroids, and is currently being explored for more than 180 other indications. You will hear from experts and patients about focused ultrasound’s potential to increase the quality and longevity of life and decrease the cost of care by transforming the treatment of a broad range of indications. Speakers will also cover different ways focused ultrasound can be used to treat the brain, including tissue destruction, blood-brain barrier opening for enhanced drug delivery, and neuromodulation.
