President-elect Donald Trump won Ohio’s 17 electoral votes after defeating Vice President Kamala Harris with 55.2% of the vote to 43.9%. Trump received 3.1 million votes compared to Harris’ 2.5 million.

Following the passage of the Capital Budget, the state legislature went on summer break and focus on the elections. The Ohio Senate returns in mid-November and the Ohio House has not released their schedule yet, but is expected to follow suit.
